I’m a writer, editor, and journalist who lives somewhere between Nashville, Tennessee; New York City; and Richmond, Virginia.
My first young adult novel, The Debutante, was published by Disney Hyperion in May 2008. My second, The Lost Summer, comes out July 2009. Roomies: Sharing Your Home with Friends, Strangers and Total Freaks, an illustrated humor/advice book about the joys and perils of living with roommates, found a home on bookshelves August 2008. Under my pen name, Lucy Ruggles, I've authored a number of original junior novels and adaptations for Disney Press, including the New York Times bestseller, Camp Rock: The Junior Novel.
My work has appeared in The New York Observer, Newsweek, Nfocus, NewYorkMag.com, and Shecky's, among other publications. I am a freelance project editor for Sideshow Media, a New York-based book producer/packager, and offer freelance editing, copy editing, proofreading, and photo research services.
I’m a strong believer in the healing power of butter, bacon, and Southern rock, and I never, ever wear white after Labor Day… or is it before Labor Day?

"Virgil Fox is ready to take on high school. He and his best friend Derek are going to become the life of every party, date the cutest girls, and one day rule Summerton High. But when Virgil goes out of his way to save an overachiever named Charlie on the first day of freshmen year, his social standing drops—big time.
Flash forward four years and Derek is captain of the football team while Virgil is captain of…the dorks. But when Charlie creates a time machine, Virgil sees it as the perfect opportunity to save his classmates from being bullied. Teaming up with Zeke, a rebellious loner, Virgil and Charlie become the time jumping Minutemen— a trio of “heroes” who stop bullies in their tracks. But will changing the past put the future of the world in danger?"
